The 2000 Decennial Census showed that the Village of Burr Ridge has grown more than 35% since 1990, from a population of 7,684 to a population of 10,408. This is an increase of 1,067 or more than 11% over the 1995 special census figure of 9,341. The census counted 3,679 housing units, with 138 of these vacant.
The Village of Burr Ridge continues to grow and a population of more than 17,000 is possible by the year 2020 if the vacant lands in the Village and in the unincorporated areas within the Village's projected ultimate boundaries are developed.

Data from the 2000 Decennial Census reveals that:
Household size has decreased slightly from 1995’s 2.96 to 2.87.
The number of persons per family has also decreased slightly and is now 3.22.
According to Worth magazine's 2001 list of the 250 wealthiest towns in the nation, Burr Ridge ranked 209th, with a median home price of $527,500.
The community remains well balanced, with women outnumbering men only slightly.
The largest age group is 45 to 54 and 48% of the Burr Ridge population is 45 or older. The second largest age group is now 35 to 44 (in 1995, the second largest age group was those in their 50’s).

Data from the 2000 Decennial Census reveals that the per capita income in 1999 was $58,518, the median household income was $129,507 and the median family income was $151,126. More than 43 percent of the households had an income of $150,000 or more; more than 50 percent of the families had an income of $150,000 or more.
