GENERAL UTILITY WORKER II (Full Time)

The Village of Burr Ridge is accepting applications for the full-time position of General Utility Worker II in the Water & Sewer Division.  The starting wage for this position is $25.44 per hour, plus a generous benefit package.

A mechanically inclined person is desired, with at least five years’ experience working with a municipal water system, including significant experience with water main break repair.  Applicants must be reliable, possess a strong work ethic, be willing to work in all weather conditions, and be available to work evenings and weekends.  Applicants must possess a Class C Water Operator’s Certification, have a CDL Class B driver’s license, and high school diploma or equivalent.  Applicants should be skilled equipment operators and have the capability to lead other employees during the resolution of a water main break.

General responsibilities include operating construction/excavation equipment, maintaining and repairing water and sewer system, water main break repair, utility locating, meter replacement, general maintenance, and snow plowing.  Physical strength and coordination, ability to lift up to 100 pounds and ability to work in all weather conditions is required.
