VILLAGE OF BURR RIDGE


UNDERGRADUATE ENGINEERING INTERN

The Village of Burr Ridge, Illinois, is accepting resumes for an undergraduate internship in the Public Works Department-Engineering Division.  Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited civil engineering degree program.  This internship occurs during Summer, 2015.

The Civil Engineering Intern supports the Division on various municipal engineering activities.  Job duties include assisting with design and inspection of maintenance-related projects; surveying with transit and GPS devices; collection and evaluation of traffic data; performing field inspections; reviewing building permit applications; performing engineering calculations; assisting Village-wide GIS development; and scanning plans and documents into electronic format.  This position will include both office and field activities in various conditions.

Applicants must be highly motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and have effective communication skills.  The preferred candidate will have completed some engineering coursework with the ability to perform simple to medium-level engineering and math calculations.  All candidates must be at least 18 years of age and must submit to a pre-employment, post-offer drug screen and physical.

Salary: $12.00/hour.  EOE.

TEMPORARY SUMMER WORKER

The Village of Burr Ridge, Illinois, is accepting resumes for temporary Summer Help in the Public Works Department.  Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and be available for building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and general labor duties. 

Applicants must be highly motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and have effective communication skills.  The preferred candidate will have some experience with hand tools, lawn equipment, or construction materials.  All candidates must be at least 18 years of age and must submit to a pre-employment, post-offer drug screen and physical.

M–F, 7:00-3:30 at $10.00/hr.  EOE.
