Registration is now closed! Thank you for your overwhelmingly positive response to our first Village Academy!The Village Academy aims to foster a stronger bond between the Village of Burr Ridge and its residents. With a primary focus on increasing civic engagement and awareness, this initiative is designed to empower community members with valuable insights into the inner workings of local governance. The academy takes place over 10 weeks, beginning on March 6, 2024, and ending with graduation on May 8, 2024. Advanced registration is required, and classes are limited to 25 participants. Registration closes at the end of February!
Join your neighbors as a participant in the Village Academy which will provide an up-close view of the inner workings of their local government. Participants will have a chance to dive into all the aspects of Burr Ridge's government through a variety of classes and interactive activities. Participants will learn about Village Administration, Police Operations, Public Works Operations, Criminal Investigations and MERIT, the Village's Infrastructure & Utilities, Police Use of Force, Community Development, Community Policing & Crime Prevention, and the Village's Finances

Who can attend/participate?
The Village Academy is open to Burr Ridge residents, 18 years of age and older. All participants will be subject to a criminal background check. The Village of Burr Ridge and its representatives have the right to exclude an applicant with a less than exemplary police record whose participation is deemed not to be in the best interest of the Village of Burr Ridge and/or the applicant.
How do I register?
Complete and submit your registration here, online. If you are having issues with the online registration form, call the Village Hall at (630) 654-8181 for assistance. Once the class is filled, registration will be closed.
Dates and Locations?
Village Academy sessions are held on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the designated locations. The location may vary based on the class but will begin at the Burr Ridge Village Hall located at 7660 S. County Line Road, Burr Ridge, Illinois 60527.
When can I apply?
Village Academy registration opens annually in January. Once a class has been filled, registration will be closed.What If I'm out of town during one of the weeks?
While we would love for you to attend every week, we understand that life happens. Applicants are asked to attend at least 8 of the 10 weeks. Please let us know with as much notice as possible which date(s) you will not be able to attend.
What's earned at the conclusion?
Participants receive a certificate of completion and are recognized by the Board of Trustees upon completion of the Village Academy.
