The Village of Burr Ridge is accepting applications for each of two positions: Engineering Intern and GIS Intern.  Interns will gain experience in a variety of large projects and assignments involving professional communication, project scheduling, and problem solving.

Engineering Intern will assist in a wide variety of municipal engineering and related functions, including inspections, pavement condition evaluations, drainage facility maintenance assessments, cost estimating, and other associated tasks.

GIS Intern will complete technical and administrative assignments in support of the geographic information system used by the Public Works Department.  Responsibilities include data collection, database creation and validation, and correlating collected data to record drawings within ESRI ArcGIS software.

Internship positions begin in May 2020.  The positions require working outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions, and extensive walking.  Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a strong work ethic. Experience working in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is preferred.  Internship candidates must pass a physical exam, drug screening, background check, and driving record verification.  Hourly wage is $12.00, for full-time summer employment of approximately 3-4 months.
