The Village of Burr Ridge Zoning Ordinance regulates the construction of all accessory structures on residential properties in the Village. Accessory structures include decks, patios, patio walls, sidewalks, and similar structures. A permit is required to construct most accessory structures including decks, patios, and patio walls. If you are not sure if you need a permit for your project please contact Village staff (see contact information below). Residential decks, patios, and patio walls must be located in the side or rear yard of a property and the combined area of all accessory structures and buildings in a rear yard cannot exceed 30% of the rear yard.
