The Village of Burr Ridge Zoning Ordinance regulates all fences in the Village. First and foremost, a permit is required for all fences in the Village of Burr Ridge. No fence should be constructed without first obtaining a permit from the Village Hall. Please download a fence permit application form and additional information about applying for a permit.
Residential fences cannot exceed 5 feet in height, must be at least 50% open and are restricted to the rear yard of residential properties. Fences are not permitted in side yards or front yards. Fence posts and supports must face the interior of the lot and chain link, solid, or barbed wire fences are prohibited. All fences in non-residential districts require special use approval by the Village Board after review by the Plan Commission.
