The Village of Burr Ridge Zoning Ordinance regulates the construction of all accessory structures on residential properties in the Village. Accessory structures include decks, patios, patio walls, outdoor kitchens, and similar structures. A permit is required to construct all of these listed structures and most other accessory structures. If you are not sure if you need a permit for your project please contact Village staff (see contact information below). Most outdoor kitchens are constructed concurrent with the construction of a deck or patio. Please also refer to the permit application link for Decks, Patios, and Patio Walls for information about a deck or patio permit. A single permit application may be submitted for the construction of an outdoor kitchen and a patio or deck. However, all of the directions and regulations contained in both permit packets must be followed.
