Victim/Witness Assistance



The Victim Services Unit of the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office was founded in 1984 to provide assistance to victims and witnesses of violent crimes that occur in DuPage County. Advocates assigned to the Victim Services Unit are available to assist victims of any violent crime. Victim Service Advocates can be reached by calling 630-407-8008 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.


The mission of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Victim Witness Assistance Unit is to enhance prosecution efforts by delivering the highest quality of services to victims and witnesses in the areas of advocacy and court support. They can be reached at 773-674-7200.


Attorney General Lisa Madigan has made it a priority to provide services to help victims meet their challenges and regain peace of mind. There are several programs administered by the Crime Victim Services Division to help victims throughout Illinois. For service or information, call 800-228-3368.


This website is provided to assist victims and witnesses obtain information regarding a criminal alien's release from custody. The Victim Notification Program is administered by HSI to protect the public and ensure that the rights of victims are carefully observed. Victims and witnesses are required to register with HSI in order to receive notifications.
