Wolf Road Bridge Reopens

December 8, 2026
Cook County has advised that Wolf Road is set to reopen at 6 PM tonight! All detour signs will be removed this evening. On Saturday, December 9, from 8 AM to noon, a lane closure is necessary for the remaining bridge work. However, two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers, and by Saturday afternoon, all lanes will be fully opened.

Due to the temporary closure of the Wolf Road bridge north of 72nd Street, traffic at the 79th / County Line Road intersection has increased. This construction is expected to conclude in approximately three weeks. Residents can still reach downtown Burr Ridge via Wolf Road and 72nd Street if coming from the Cook County side of town.

The construction and road closure will begin on Monday, November 13th and will last for four weeks.

October 30, 2023
Beginning in mid-November and lasting into mid-December, the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (DOTH) will close Wolf Road near 72nd Street to complete repairs on the Wolf Road bridge over Flagg Creek.

The County's bridge repair project will detour all traffic around the bridge closure for approximately three weeks. Seek alternate routes during this time – use County Line Road or Willow Springs Road to avoid the closure of Wolf Road near 72nd Street. Local traffic to the schools, parks, homes and fire station will be allowed. Cook County DOTH will install signs for detour routes.

The Cook County DOTH has provided this information to the Village. The Village will forward any updates from the County regarding this project whenever they become available. All other inquiries or problems within the County's roadway projects can be handled by calling (312) 603-1620.
