LTHS Provides Update on Willow Springs Land Sale

Lyons Township High School District 204 (LTHS) has shared an update on the 70-acre parcel of land in Willow Springs. For more details and to access the update from LTHS, please visit this link. 

LTHS received an unsolicited inquiry and letter of intent from Pulte Homes, expressing interest in purchasing the Willow Springs property for $18.8 million. Pulte Homes aims to develop residential homes on the site. However, the District 204 Board cannot enter into a contract based on the received letters of intent. State law mandates that any potential sale of the Willow Springs property to a private party must be conducted through a public sale, following the provisions of Section 5-22 of the Illinois School Code.

LTHS plans to discuss this matter further at their January 22 meeting, and the community is invited to attend. The district has reached out to the Village of Willow Springs, Pleasantdale Park District, and Pleasantdale School District 107 to participate in the discussion.

As a reminder, on February 13, 2023, the Village of Burr Ridge's Board of Trustees passed a resolution supporting the development vision of the Village of Willow Springs. The resolution underscores the importance of aligning with Willow Springs' existing ordinance, which outlines permitted developments such as residential, retail, and senior living uses for the land.
